Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Should Have Solar – Costs Everyone Money if It Doesn’t
ALL Investors/Providers Can Afford to Put Solar on EVERY SDA
The returns on SDA, even at Improved Liveability are substantial. Solar systems cost the investors very little as part of a build.
Solar Means Never Having to Worry About Electricity Bills
NDISP has properties all of the place with Solar systems on the roof and we can see what our participants use. Our dearest electricity bill is a 3 participant place that doesn’t turn of the air conditioners and still comes in at under $300 a quarter for the whole place. Most of our places have bills of under $100 a quarter.
Solar Means Being Able to Run Your Air Con Whenever You need to
NDISP were inside another providers’ house recently that didn’t have solar. We were literally dripping with sweat but the participant in there (who is moving to one of our places) and they were worried about the cost of air con and not using it.
Investors Who Don’t Install Solar Will Lose More Money
On a 3 bed share house at Improved Liveability level it only takes 4-6 weeks of rent to pay for a solar system, or 4-6 weeks of vacancy to wish you had installed one.
